DELIVERY
Dear customers,
We want to keep you up to date with situations and events that impact the shipment of your orders. We strive to keep your orders as on time as possible, however recent events have impacted projected delivery times.
Christmas Delivery Cut Off
In the lead up to the busiest time of the year, it is recommended to place orders before the 13th of December, to receive before Christmas.
Shipping Influx
In January, an unusual and unexpectedly high number of shipping containers arrived in port. This influx of freight has caused a logistics backlog that has extended into Freedom’s Distribution Centre. Our team is working extended hours around the clock to clear these backlogs as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, delays have also extended to our delivery booking system and there is currently a backlog of orders awaiting delivery. Again, our team is working hard to clear this backlog as quickly as they can.
We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. If you’re waiting for an order from us, you can follow live updates to your estimated delivery date by logging into your Freedom Online account and clicking on My Orders, if you don't have a Freedom Online account you can create one here.
Delivery Fees
Delivery charges for furniture items are based on postcode and product volume. Charges are displayed on both the product page and checkout page prior to payment. To view the overall delivery cost of all items in your order, please ensure all items have been added to your shopping cart, and that your delivery suburb and postcode are entered correctly.
Final delivery charges will be calculated at checkout (if online) or in-store.
We have two delivery tiers:
• Metro - essentially any address within any city in New Zealand where there is a Freedom store located
• Regional – any address outside of Metro areas (above)
Metro Deliveries
For delivery to Metro areas in the Freedom delivery network, delivery is based on the combined volume in cubic metres of all product/s in your order:
Small Furniture (<1m2) eg: coffee table, ottoman, or small armchair | $99 |
Medium Furniture (1-4m2) eg: 3- or 4-seater sofa | $159 |
Large Furniture (4-8m2) eg: a 5-seater modular sofa or dining setting | $250 |
Regional Deliveries
For locations outside of metro areas, delivery fees are calculated in the same way as Metro deliveries but take into account the additional distance from our delivery centre/s.
NB for ALL deliveries: When items are extra heavy or require extra care (eg recliners, which need to be transported upright), or access to your property is tricky or challenging (eg stairs or extra tight locations), additional fees will apply.
The delivery process
We use specialist bulky goods freight partners to deliver orders. When you place your order, your delivery time frame is estimated based on several fluctuating factors (see below). These are regularly reviewed and updated, and will be communicated with you.
Once your order arrives at our Distribution Centre, we will contact you to book in your preferred delivery at date and time. The day prior to your delivery, you’ll receive a confirmation SMS from our freight partner with an estimated delivery time.
Please note: while best endeavors are made to deliver within your estimated delivery time frame, delays can occur for reasons beyond our control such as: changes to manufacturing schedules, shipping and supply chain bottlenecks, and freight delays within NZ. In these instances, your patience is appreciated.
How long will it take for my order to be delivered?
Delivery times vary by stock availability. To view estimated delivery time frame, please go to the product page and enter your delivery suburb and postcode.
Products can either be ‘In Stock’ or ‘Available to Order’ depending on the stock's availability.
Do you deliver to PO Box addresses?
Unfortunately, we do not deliver to PO Boxes as our products are too large. This also includes Parcel Lockers, GPO, Locker Bags, and RMB addresses. All furniture items are delivered by our freight partners and require a signature upon delivery.
Do you deliver internationally?
We do not currently deliver to any locations outside of New Zealand.
What if I am not at my delivery address when my order arrives?
A person over the age of 18 is required to accept delivery at the delivery address. If no such person is at the delivery address:
• Small homeware items will be redirected to your local post office or the freight partner’s Distribution Centre
• Large homeware and/or furniture items requiring redelivery may incur a redelivery fee
For furniture deliveries, we will contact you the day prior to delivery to ensure an adult will be available to receive the item. If you know an adult will not be available at the delivery address, please let us know ASAP.
How do I know my item/s will fit through the door?
It is your responsibility to ensure that your item/s will fit though doorways, entrances, and access points (eg lifts, stairwells), so ensure you double check the size of your furniture purchase against all delivery access points on your property.
In-store, your Freedom sales assistant can provide the dimensions of each item to ensure your purchase will fit into your home.
Any redelivery required due to inaccessibility will incur additional delivery fees, payable prior to rebooking.
Wherever possible we will deliver all furniture products together. If you would prefer separate deliveries, separate delivery fees will apply.
Customer Furniture Collection
Unfortunately, while we have done so in the past, at the present time we are unable to facilitate the collection of furniture items by customers from any Freedom Distribution Centres.
